Big Table Games is now up and running. There are five of us working together to make a small game to go on a leaflet from the NHS about mental health.

The team consists of: Annie Hossenbux as Team Leader and Asset Production.

Leon Plumb and Samuel Dowding as Programmers.

Myself as Art, Character Design and Rigging.

Deven Chidovori on Sound and UI.

The idea is an endless runner based on a summer woodland theme. Going by the name of: The Opal Trail!

We're currently in the prototype phase. And during this phase, we decided to change the art style from a cell shaded look into a low-poly look.

My job as part of this team is for designing the character that the player will be controlling. As well as modelling and rigging the character. For this I will be using mainly 3DS Max to model the character. Then used Z-Brush to as detailing to the character. I will then go into quixel to add textures to the character.

When designing the character, I went through a few ideas based on the research I have done. Firstly, I was looking a creating a small girl. However, due to the fact of the potential of making younger boys feeling left out, I decided against this, and decided to make the character an animal.

At first I was going to make a bear. But after realising the fact that I'm not experienced enough in modelling to create a full humanoid character, I decided to make the character a Magpie. It also works with the theme of the game, where the character is going through the game and picking up opals.

My main goal is to get a character modeled and rigged in order to allow implementation.
